Deep Cleansing Enzyme Peel
Many of our patients at Windsor Dermatology find that they are unable to tolerate stronger chemical peels due to their sensitive, easily irritated or allergy-prone skin. For them, the deep-cleansing enzyme peel is the ideal alternative, allowing them to experience similar benefits delivered by salicylic or glycolic peels.
Our deep-cleansing enzyme peel is made from bromelain extract, derived from the pineapple plant. Bromelain extract contains a protein-digesting enzyme that works efficiently to remove dead cells from the top layer of skin (epidermis), making healthy cell restoration and renewal possible. Following a deep-cleansing peel, your pores are tighter which facilitates easier extraction of whiteheads and blackheads. This deep-cleansing enzyme peel is gentle and natural, making it suitable for all skin types.
How It Works
Enzymes are proteins that biologically break down the bonds that keep dead skin cells stuck to one another and to your skin. Bromelain is extracted from the stem and juice of the pineapple plant. When applied to the skin, bromelain enzyme exfoliates the skin, unclogging pores and replacing dry, dull and uneven skin with renewed health and vigor.
After a deep-cleansing enzyme peel, your skin may look less wrinkled. Pores may be smaller and tighter. Your skin tone and texture may appear less blotchy and more even. Your complexion may be noticeably brighter. Healthy new cells will begin to replace exfoliated dead cells and family, friends and even co-workers may comment that you look younger and more refreshed!
